“No shortage of medicines & logistics in Sonitpur to tackle Covid till now” ~ Joint Director of Health Services

Tezpur, April 27 : A total of 3137 tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday in Assam, making it the state’s highest in the year 2021.

In light of the rising number of cases, Tezpur Buzz got in touch with Joint Director of Health Services, Sonitpur Dr. Jiauddin Ahmed to learn about current Covid situation and its preparedness in the District.

Speaking to Tezpur, Dr. Jiauddin Ahmed said that, at present there are sufficient medicines and other logistics to treat Covid-19 patients in Sonitpur. Vaccine stock has also been increased to 24,880 (COVAXIN), however Covishield remains same. “If you see the recovery rate, we are doing great in the numbers. There is nothing to get worried. We should always be mentally stable. People get infected but they are also getting cured, right ? It’s not a tiger attack to build chaos, we don’t need to panic for Corona, take precautions and get cured thats it. Let’s spread some positivity” said Dr. Ahmed while in rendezvous with Tezpur Buzz.

It may be mentioned that there is already an Oxygen Plant operational at Tezpur Medical College & Hospital. Taking to Twitter, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned, “8 oxygen plants operational in Assam. A total of 10 more oxygen plants will be added through funds from PM Cares to meet the requirement of NE. We also have 2000 oxygen concentrators in stock”.

Meanwhile in Sonitpur, 90306 people got vaccinated as on Monday morning (Data will vary). Vaccine stock in the District – COVAXIN 19,770 and Covishield 4710.
