In response to the instructions from the Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP), Tezpur, the Assam Civil Defence, Sonitpur branch, has deployed two sections of Civil Defence Volunteers (CDV) for the surveillance of picnic spots at Devi Singh Ghat and Rudro Path. This initiative aims to ensure water safety and a peaceful environment for the public.
The six-day duty plan began on December 26, 2024, and will continue until December 31, 2024. The Rudro Path area is under the surveillance of Group Commander Suhail Ahmed, ACD, while the Devi Singh Ghat area is monitored by Group Leader Amit Kujur, ACD. Overall, the safety and duty matters of the picnic spots are overseen by Post Warden Bichitra Deka of Assam Civil Defence.
The primary objective of this duty plan is to ensure the safety of visitors and maintain a tranquil atmosphere in the picnic spots of Tezpur. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance public safety and prevent any untoward incidents during the holiday season.
