The 39th State Taekwondo Championships 2024 were held from 19th to 22nd May at the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati. This year’s edition witnessed outstanding performances from the students of Amateur Taekwondo Academy under the supervision of trainer Utpal Mandal. A historic moment unfolded as the Women’s Poomsae group from Amateur Taekwondo Academy, under Sonitpur District Taekwondo, made their debut at the championships. Their remarkable achievements included:
Gold Medals:
- Shrimati Shradhamoni Musahary – Women’s weight class singles (Age Group under 50).
- Shrimati Sharda Singh – Women’s weight class singles (Under age 40)
- Shri Utpal Mandal & Shrimati Shradhamoni Musahary – weight class Doubles (under age group pair 50)
- Utpal Mandal, Bidyut Bora, Chandan Biswas – weight class Team Men Poomsae (under age group 50)
- Shradhamoni Musahary, Sushma Thakur, Sharda Singh – Women’s weight class Team Poomsae (under age group 50)
Silver Medals:
- Smt. Sushma Thakur – Women’s weight class singles (under age group 50)
- Aniket Das – 51 kg Kyorugi Junior class
- Aniket Thakur – 174 CM Kyorugi Cadet class
Bronze Medals:
- Mandeep Rajbanshi, Aniket Thakur, Gaurav Jyoti Boro – Group Cadet Boys
- Piyami Biswas, Mridushmita Mahanta, Dimpi Rajbanshi – Group Cadet Girls
Special Achievement:
- Ourav Khetawat – “Youngest Yellow Belt Holder” in Assam Book of Records
