Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a significant decision, introducing negative marking for the upcoming ADRE Grade III & IV recruitment exam. This move aims to increase the competitiveness among aspirants and ensure a fair selection process. With 11 lakh candidates applying for a limited 13,000 vacancies, the exam has become highly competitive, marking a substantial surge compared to the previous year.
For the first time in Assam, 11 lakh candidates will be appearing for a single exam, as stated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Even during the HSLC exam, the highest number of candidates was 5 lakhs. Such a record for a recruitment post has only been set by Uttar Pradesh before, marking this as a significant milestone for Assam. As this is the first time the government is taking steps to ensure the exam is conducted smoothly and transparently.
The government decision to not charge fees for applying has encouraged many talented students to take part . This decision was made to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent talented individuals from applying, regardless of their economic background.
During the previous examination, people observed transparency in the selection process, with meritorious students and students from underprivileged backgrounds also succeeding. The fair and transparent evaluation inspired many to believe in the integrity of the process and motivated them to apply this time.
As a result, there has been a significant increase in the number of applicants. The initiative to waive application fees has made the examination more inclusive and accessible, encouraging a diverse group of candidates to showcase their talents and aims to select the best candidates based on their abilities without any bias and convey the idea of fair and equal opportunity for all candidates
