Fake appointment letter claims scammers to be police, accused arrested

The Assam Police in it’s official Twitter handle has warned about an incident where they found that scammers were using fake appointment letters to commit fraud and claimed that they are from the police department.
The letter shared by the police looked much similar to original appointment letters and were under the head of the ‘Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police’ which was dated – 21st July 2021, bearing Memo No. DIGP/57/JA/R-18/04/2021.

A case has been duly registered by the Kamrup police and an accused has also been arrested. Further investigations are on.
