Assam State Commission for Right to Public Services Conducts Maiden District Review in Sonitpur

The Assam State Commission for Right to Public Services, led by Chief Commissioner Shri Sujoy Lal Thaosen, IPS (Retd.), along with Commissioners Shri Ranjan Kumar Chakraborty and Shri Bimal Chand Oswal, held its inaugural district review meeting today at the District Commissioner’s Office in Sonitpur. The meeting was attended by District Commissioner Shri Ankur Bharali, ACS, Co-District Commissioner of Naduar Shri Raj Boruah, Co-District Commissioner of Dhekiajuli Smti. Dyotiva Bora, Additional District Commissioners Twahir Alam and Shri Garga Mohan Das, along with various heads of departments.

The meeting included discussions on the services provided under the Assam Right to Public Services (RTPS) Act through the Sewa Setu Portal. Emphasis was placed on improving the delivery of crucial services such as caste certificates, permanent resident certificates (PRCs), senior citizen certificates, income certificates, and no objection certificates (NOCs). Additionally, the review included key platforms like Sewa Setu, VAHAN, SARATHI, Dharitree, and Mission Basundhara to enhance service delivery. The commission outlined its future goals which aim to streamline services, train Designated Public Servants (DPS), enhance public awareness, and upgrade technical systems.
