The Rotaract community of Rotary International District 3240 celebrated a momentous transition of leadership during its 36th Rotaract District Installation Ceremony, named “Symphony.” The grand event, held on July 12, 2025, in Malda, West Bengal, witnessed the formal installation of Rtr. Kumar Shivam Das as the District Rotaract Representative (DRR) for the Rotary year 2025-26.
The ceremony brought together Rotaractors, Rotarians, and distinguished guests from across nine states under District 3240, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and parts of West Bengal. Prominent dignitaries present included Rtn. Ashim Kanti Adhikary (District Governor Elect), Rtn. Sukhminder Singh (Immediate Past District Governor), Rtn. Sandip Das (District Chief Advisor), Rtn. Rtr. Aloka Dey (Immediate Past District Rotaract Representative), and Rtr. Pintu Sharma (DRR Elect).

Under the District Rotaract Theme “Sustainable Odyssey,” newly installed DRR Kumar Shivam Das outlined his vision focusing on grassroots community impact, club empowerment, and youth-driven innovation. Das, from Tezpur, Assam, is a member of the Rotaract Club of Rongali Guwahati, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Gauhati West. His leadership approach emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and meaningful service.
The Symphony ceremony featured the unveiling of the District Rotaract theme and the launch of the District Rotaract Directory 2025-26. The event also presented the District Rotaract Council 2025-26 and included cultural showcases celebrating the diversity of northeastern states. A particularly meaningful moment was the display of pledged organ donors from the Rotaract fraternity, reinforcing the “Unite for Good” call among District 3240 youth.

The installation ceremony sets the stage for an impactful year ahead under DRR Das’s leadership. The Rotaract community eagerly anticipates the upcoming District Conference at Guwahati’s Nava Sangam, which promises to be a mega festival bringing together Rotaractors from across District 3240 to share ideas and plan future initiatives.
