Hirak Mandal’s journey in Taekwondo is an inspiring story of dedication and continuous growth. Starting his training in 2008 with a genuine interest in martial arts, he has built an impressive career spanning over 15 years.
His competitive journey began in 2012 when he entered his first State Championship. This marked the start of his rise as a serious athlete in the sport. After years of consistent training and competing, Hirak achieved a major breakthrough in 2016 by winning a gold medal at an international championship. This victory established him as a skilled competitor on the global stage.

Hirak continued his international presence with another competition in 2020, proving his ability to maintain high performance levels over time. Throughout his career, he has regularly participated in various national-level championships, steadily building his experience and reputation in the Taekwondo community.
His success comes from training under the expert guidance of Utpal Mandal at the Amateur Taekwondo Academy. Under this mentorship, Hirak developed not only his physical techniques but also the mental discipline required for high-level competition.
Beyond competing, Hirak has shown his commitment to the sport’s development. In 2023, he successfully passed the National Referee Exam, allowing him to contribute as an official. He also completed the National Referee Level Upgradation Course, further expanding his role in supporting Taekwondo competitions across the country.
Today, Hirak Mandal represents the complete martial artist – excelling both as a competitor who has won international recognition and as an official working to maintain the sport’s standards and integrity in India. His journey demonstrates how passion, proper guidance, and persistent effort can lead to success at multiple levels.
