Tezpur, August 20, 2025 (Wednesday): Delhi Public School (DPS), Tezpur proudly hosted the first-ever CBSE Zonal Level Yogasana Competition 2025 in Tezpur. Held on 20th August 2025 under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the event provided a prestigious platform for young athletes to showcase their skill, discipline, and sportsmanship in the ancient art of yogasana.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by esteemed officials appointed by CBSE and the Assam Yoga Association. Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Ashok Dhawan, Yoga Expert (Retd.) from Delhi and an eminent figure known for his outstanding contributions to Indian sports, and Mr. Prabhat Chandra Bora, Vice President of the Yoga Federation of India and recipient of the Government-recognized National School Games Certificate.
The event was officially overseen by Ms. Namita Lahkar, Vice President of the Assam Yoga Association. A panel of experienced judges presided over various competition categories, ensuring fair evaluation and maintaining a high standard of competition.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome extended to all dignitaries and officials. A total of 57 schools from CBSE’s Guwahati and Bhubaneswar regions participated, with over 350 enthusiastic boys and girls demonstrating their yogasana talents with remarkable discipline and energy.
The program featured a ceremonial team walk, symbolizing unity and the collective spirit of the sport, followed by a captivating Yoga Dance performance by the students of Delhi Public School, Tezpur, an artistic display of flexibility, grace, and strength.
Mr. Pankaj Yadav, Principal of DPS Tezpur, addressed the gathering with insightful and motivating words. He congratulated the participants, emphasized the importance of holistic well-being through yoga, and encouraged the young athletes to continue striving for excellence.
Following his address, the competition was officially declared open, ushering in a vibrant celebration of talent and tradition.
