Tezpur: Cats and Dogs vaccinated (anti-rabies) on occasion of World Zoonoses Day; initiative highly appreciated

06th July 2021: In a welcoming initiative, RD’s The Pet Shop (Add- Kacharigaon, Opp. Moonlit School, Tezpur) in association with a voluntary organisation ‘Just Be Friendly’ (JBF) celebrated World Zoonoses Day by providing more than 50 anti-rabies vaccines to dogs and cats at the Pet Shop’s premises.

The free anti-rabies vaccination programme was scheduled between 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and citizens highly appreciated the initiative, which was conducted amid the tough pandemic situation. World Zoonoses Day is observed every year on July 6 to commemorate the work of French Biologist Louis Pasteur, who successfully administered the first-ever vaccine against rabies, a zoonotic disease, on 06 July 1885.
