Tezpur, August 21, 2025 (Thursday): The National Senior Citizens Day was celebrated with great respect and warmth at Mahila Samiti, Tezpur. The event was organized by the Inner Wheel Club, a global women’s service organization that works to promote friendship, service, and international understanding. With over 1,20,000 members in more than 100 countries, the club is the second-largest women’s service organization in the world.
As part of the celebration, a general health check-up camp was conducted for the elderly. Two renowned doctors, Dr. Arijit Dutta, MD from TMC, and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Dental Surgeon, offered their valuable services during the program.
The event was beautifully coordinated by Mrs. Meenakshi Sharma and Mrs. Rumi Aich. Sharing thoughts on the occasion, one of the organizers said, “Elderly people are an honor to our nation and are extremely valuable; we must treat them with dignity and respect.”
The celebration highlighted the importance of caring for senior citizens and honoring their role in society, while also ensuring their health and well-being.
