NACCI Tezpur requests trimming of Tree Branches in Tezpur

The North Assam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NACCI) has formally appealed to the District Commissioner of Sonitpur, Assam, for immediate action to trim trees in various parts of Tezpur. The request comes as a proactive measure to prevent potential hazards during the monsoon season.

In a letter dated July 20, 2024, NACCI President Dipendar Joshi emphasized the risks associated with overgrown tree branches, particularly those near power lines, roads, and buildings. The organization expressed concern about the possibility of accidents, property damage, and disruption of essential services due to falling branches during heavy rainfall and strong winds.

The Chamber has specifically requested prioritization of tree trimming in key areas of Tezpur, including Main Road, Thana Road, Court Road, and Dhanuanagar. These locations are likely high-traffic areas or zones with significant infrastructure that could be impacted by falling branches.

“We believe that proactive measures like tree trimming will go a long way in mitigating the risks associated with the monsoon season,” Joshi stated in the letter. The NACCI expressed confidence that the District Commissioner’s office would take prompt action to address this safety concern.
