Fire Safety Awareness Drive held in Tezpur during National Fire Service Week 2025

In observance of National Fire Service Week 2025, Assam Civil Defence, Tezpur and Fire & Emergency Service, Sonitpur conducted a joint awareness program and mock drill at Luitpar Field. The event brought together local residents to promote this year’s theme, “Unite to Ignite: A Fire-Safe India.”

The program featured an interactive session led by Suhail Ahmed from Assam Civil Defence, who demonstrated first aid techniques for fire burn casualties and provided hands-on training in the operation of fire extinguishers. ASI Shailendra Tiwari from the Fire & Emergency Services explained the significance of National Fire Service Week and delivered an informative presentation on fire classification basics.

Approximately 40 active participants engaged in the event, including members of the Assam Civil Defence team and Fire Brigade Corps. The program was attended by village headmen, local officials, and Post Warden Juganta Saikia of Assam Civil Defence, Tezpur.

The collaborative initiative effectively conveyed essential messages about fire safety measures and emergency response strategies. The organizers emphasized the significance of preparedness and adhering to proper procedures when managing fire-related incidents. This effort reinforced the week’s theme of unity in fire prevention initiatives across India.
