Tezpur, January 2, 2026 (Friday): The Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, today laid the foundation stone for a new Super Speciality Hospital at Tezpur Medical College & Hospital. This initiative represents a significant advancement in healthcare provision for the people of North Assam.

The ambitious ₹306‑crore project marks a transformative investment in North Assam’s medical infrastructure. The upcoming Super Speciality Hospital at Tezpur Medical College is expected to deliver specialised and tertiary‑level treatment locally, significantly reducing the need for patients to travel outside the district or state for advanced care.
