On 3rd June 2021, the general secretary of The Socialist Organization and former president of Darrang College Mr. Trishanu Bhuyan presented an application to the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur, Bhupesh Ch Das pleading for the safety and security of the health workers in this difficult time of pandemic.
He also stated that the attack on the doctors in Hojai on 1st June is shameful and condemnable. As doctors and the nurses are working on the forefront during this covid pandemic helping us fight the situation, it is our responsibility to provide protection to them, mentioned Trishanu.
So that acts like this don’t happen in the district of Sonitpur, it is hence requested that the frontline workers should be given high security by the police officials.
He has asked the student organisations of other districts to take steps and spread awareness about the safety and security of the health workers and request the police officials of every district to provide proper security and ask for proper action against the miscreants of the Hojai incident.
During the submission of the application, other members of the organisation such as Dipankar Kalita, Karan Gupta and Madhurjya Kalita were also present.
