Tezpur: Girl Cadets receive Self-Defence Training at 5 Assam Battalion NCC Camp

A specialised self-defence training capsule was conducted for girl cadets during the ongoing Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) of 5 Assam Battalion NCC at Bihaguri, Tezpur, aimed at equipping young women with practical skills for personal safety.

The session was led by Shri Ridip Boruah, National Vice President of the Amateur Contender Series (ACS) and a pioneering founding member of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in India, alongside his expert team from Warriors MMA Gym Tezpur.

The training capsule focused on developing situational awareness, threat perception, and basic yet effective physical techniques to enable cadets to respond confidently in adverse situations. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants were exposed to real-life scenarios, with emphasis placed on prevention, mental preparedness, and self-confidence as core components of self-defence.

Instructors stressed the importance of staying alert, making quick decisions under pressure, and employing simple defensive moves to ensure personal safety. The highly engaging session left a strong impression on the participating cadets, who were awarded certificates by Shri Ridip Boruah in recognition of their enthusiastic participation.

The initiative has been widely appreciated for its relevance, practicality, and empowering approach, reinforcing the NCC’s commitment to holistic development and women empowerment.
