Tezpur, April 22 : Along with the rest of the country and in the wake of rising cases of Covid-19 in Sonitpur too, the Gymnastic Club of Tezpur (Garwanpatty ByLane1) observed their 54th Basanti Durga Puja from 19th to 22nd April, pertaining to Covid guidelines.
Following Assam Govt’s strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for religious gatherings, the club on Thursday restricted its Doshomi rituals to only 25 committee members. Women and Children weren’t permitted to be part of the programme.
The Idol was immersed at Tezpur’s Jahaj Ghat. This comes as a good move by the club sending a message of proper Covid Protocols at a time when the city reels under sudden spike of Covid-19 cases.
