Sonitpur, December 9, 2025 (Tuesday): A major National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp has begun at Missamari Cantonment in Sonitpur. The camp will bring together around 600 young cadets from across the North Eastern Region and Uttar Pradesh. The Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat Camp marks an important effort to celebrate India’s rich culture while also promoting national unity.
Organised by the 5 Assam Battalion Tezpur Group on behalf of the North Eastern Directorate, the camp has been created to encourage cultural exchange and youth leadership among participants from many different backgrounds. The programme aims to highlight India’s diverse heritage through well-planned activities such as cultural performances, traditional art displays, and sessions on heritage awareness.

Cadets attending the camp will have the chance to experience Assam’s cultural heritage while also sharing the special customs and traditions of their own regions. This exchange is expected to strengthen the core values of unity, discipline, and mutual respect that guide the NCC.
Along with celebrating culture, the camp also aims to promote national integration and build friendship among young people across India. Organisers hope to inspire the youth to take pride in the country’s shared cultural identity and gain a deeper understanding of the traditions that bring the nation together.
The initiative highlights the NCC’s continued commitment to guiding disciplined, socially aware, and culturally sensitive young people who are dedicated to nation-building. By bringing together cadets from different states and backgrounds, the camp provides a space for meaningful interaction and understanding across regional lines.
