Sonitpur District celebrated its first Inter-School Artistic Gymnastics Competition on August 14, 2024, as part of the 78th Independence Day festivities. The event was preceded by a ten-day gymnastics camp from August 4-13, organized jointly by the district office and Sonitpur District Gymnastics Association. Coach Kaustav Kasyap Gogoi (NS NIS) led the training, which identified several promising young gymnasts.
The camp and competition aimed to nurture local talent and promote gymnastics in the region. The event showcased the skills of budding athletes and highlighted the district’s commitment to grassroots sports development. This inaugural competition sets a foundation for future gymnastics events in Sonitpur, potentially grooming athletes for national and international representation.
