In a remarkable display of talent and cultural prowess, the National Service Scheme (NSS) contingent representing Assam emerged victorious at the Northeast NSS Festival held recently in Sikkim. The team, which included six volunteers from Tezpur University, clinched the top spot in the cultural competition, outperforming over 200 participants from five Northeast Indian states.
The festival, a collaborative effort between the Sikkim State NSS cell, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Sikkim, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, served as a platform for young volunteers to showcase their skills and foster regional camaraderie.
Led by Ananya Saikia from Assam Women’s University and Dr. Bhaskar Jyoti Bhuyan from Rangia H.S. School, the 34-member Assam contingent comprised a diverse group of students. Volunteers hailed from various institutions across the state, including Assam Women’s University, Tezpur University, The Assam Kaziranga University, Rangia H.S. School, Barapujia H.S. School, and Balbala H.S. School.
