Jamugurihat, May 15, 2025 (Thursday): A sudden and severe storm swept through various parts of Jamugurihat this morning, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. In one of the most significant incidents, a massive tree toppled in the Chaibari area, crashing onto National Highway 15 and blocking vehicular movement.
Several vehicles were trapped on the highway as the fallen tree obstructed both lanes, causing traffic to come to a standstill. The storm also brought down electrical poles and power lines in the vicinity, further compounding the disruption.
Beyond Chaibari, the storm caused trees of various sizes to fall across other parts of Jamugurihat, resulting in widespread power outages and communication disruptions. Residents have reported difficulties in accessing basic services, and efforts are ongoing to assess the full extent of the damage.
