Major Drug Bust in Sonitpur: Police Seize Large Quantity of Suspected Heroin

On the night of December 18, 2024, Chariduar police, acting on a secret tip, arrested two individuals in possession of a large quantity of suspected heroin. The suspects, identified as Rabi Lama and Michael P.G, were apprehended while attempting to transport the drugs on a motorcycle bearing the registration number AS-32B-7900, from Khanamukh to Arunachal Pradesh.

According to police sources, the seized heroin is estimated to be worth over 30 lakh rupees. The recent surge in drug trafficking across Sonitpur and surrounding areas has raised serious concerns. This significant bust demonstrates the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in the region.
