In a significant boost to digital education infrastructure, Viswapragna Foundation has inaugurated a state-of-the-art computer laboratory at Tezpur College as part of the first anniversary celebrations of Shankara Cancer & Research Institute, Tezpur. The foundation, dedicated to education, awareness, and disease prevention, marked the occasion with multiple initiatives demonstrating their commitment to community development.
The computer lab, equipped with 20 high-performance i5 processor computers, represents a substantial investment in the technological capabilities of the institution. Viswapragna Foundation has further committed to maintaining the facility for the next two years, ensuring its sustained impact on students’ education. A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dr. Venkata Pradeep Babu Koyyala, representing Viswapragna Foundation, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika, Principal of Tezpur College, to formalize this collaboration.

“This computer lab will equip students with essential digital skills, including training in Artificial Intelligence, preparing them for future technological advancements,” said Dr. Koyyala during the inauguration ceremony. Dr. Pavani Medisetty, co-founder of the foundation, expressed gratitude to the college administration for the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the institution.
The inauguration was accompanied by a Speech Competition organized by the Shankara Cancer & Research Institute, Tezpur, in collaboration with IQAC, Tezpur College. The competition focused on the topic ‘Lifestyle Choices in the Prevention of Cancer.’ The event saw enthusiastic participation from students who showcased remarkable awareness and understanding of cancer prevention through lifestyle modifications.
Distinguished guests at the event included Dr. Dwipen Mahanta, President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), who served as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Sumita Gogoi, Director of Dorika Hospital, who attended as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Devajeet Kalita skillfully conducted the proceedings, ensuring an engaging and successful event.
In another significant development, Viswapragna Foundation formally established CAAG (Community Awareness and Action Group), its executive body dedicated to providing guidance and assistance to individuals diagnosed with cancer or autism, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to community support.
