Assam Civil Defence launches Volunteer Recruitment Drive in Sonitpur and Biswanath

Sonitpur/Biswanath, October 14, 2025 (Tuesday): The Office of the Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, Sonitpur, Tezpur, has announced a large-scale recruitment of 360 Civil Defence volunteers across Sonitpur and Biswanath districts, aiming to strengthen training and capacity building efforts in the state.

Following directives from the Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards Assam, dated 10 October 2025, the selection process will be conducted under the supervision of an official committee, guided by the state’s Home and Political Department’s instructions dated 9 October 2025. The recruitment will allocate 320 volunteer positions for Sonitpur District and 40 for Biswanath District, ensuring that at least 30% of the total recruits are women.


Eligibility and Application

Applicants must be residents of Sonitpur or Biswanath districts, between the ages of 18 to 50 (as per Civil Defence regulations), preferably having an education level of 10th pass or above. Physical, mental, and emotional fitness is mandatory. Interested individuals have until 16 October 2025 to submit applications.
