70th Half Annual General Meeting of NACCI Tezpur held successfully

The 70th Half Annual General Meeting of the North Assam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tezpur, was organised on December 30, 2023, in the chamber’s auditorium. The stage welcomed esteemed officials: President Dipendra Joshi, Senior Vice President Siyaram Jaiswal, Vice Presidents Parasnath Rai and Suresh Kumar Maheshwari, Secretary Prashant Bengani, Additional Secretary Bashant Saraf, and Treasurer Navneet Pareek. President Joshi extended warm greetings, while Senior Vice President Jaiswal welcomed members, expressing best wishes for the approaching New Year and collective business prosperity. A minute’s prayer was kept for the families of many members of the institute and those who passed away in the last six months in the service of the nation, so that their souls may rest in peace and attain salvation.

Chamber Secretary Bengani presented records the past six months’ accomplishments, addressing members’ concerns. Notably, challenges from the GST Department were highlighted, with assurance that a meeting featuring GST expert Om Prakash Aggarwal on January 5 would provide guidance. Members applauded Secretary Bengani, and a unanimous decision emerged to present objections to the Chief Minister, Union Finance Minister, and Prime Minister regarding the GST matter. Treasurer Pareek also presented the chamber’s financial status.

The discussion shifted towards the vacant chamber land designated for a new building. Committee members provided valuable insights, underscoring the building’s profound significance for future generations. Chairman Joshi further highlighted the chamber’s enduring legacy since its inception in 1950.

During the OPEN session, members voiced opinions, and Chairman Joshi assured appropriate actions. Welcoming 10 new life members, President Joshi expressed optimism for 30 more additions this year. In closing, he thanked members, affirming the chamber’s unwavering support and extending New Year wishes. Vice President Rai proposed a vote of thanks, concluding the meeting with the national anthem and a dinner.
