Tragic Motorcycle Accident in Jamugurihat

A devastating road accident occurred on National Highway 15 in front of the Toubhanga market in Jamugurihat, leaving two young men seriously injured. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and highlighted the ongoing concerns about road safety in the area. According to reports, a Hero Glamour motorcycle, bearing the registration number AS-12AJ-7320, was traveling at high speed when it collided violently with the rear of a stationary Maruti Alto 800 car. The car, with registration number AS-12AG-1528, was parked on the side of the national highway at the time of the impact.

The two motorcycle riders, identified as Asif Ansari, 18, and Zahir Khan, 19, both residents of Nabil village in Tupia, sustained severe injuries in the crash. Eyewitnesses describe the collision as particularly forceful. In a twist of fate, the very vehicle involved in the accident became a lifeline for the injured youths. The Maruti Alto 800 was used to rush both Ansari and Khan to the nearby North Jamuguri Rural Hospital for immediate medical attention.

Upon arrival at the hospital, medical staff quickly assessed the condition of both patients. While both young men were seriously hurt, doctors determined that Zahir Khan, who had been operating the motorcycle, was in critical condition. After providing initial treatment, the medical team made the decision to transfer Khan to Tezpur Medical College for more advanced care, underscoring the severity of his injuries.
