Tezpur University students asked to vacate hostels as Covid cases surge in the Campus

Tezpur, April 18 : As India reels under the second wave of Coronavirus and amid surge in Covid-19 positive cases in the Tezpur University campus, the Office of the Dean, Student’s Welfare has issued an official notification to vacate the hostels.

All PG/UG students except final year and Ph. D. students of the University shall have to leave the campus on or before 23.04.2021. They shall vacate their occupied rooms with bag and baggage, or they can keep their belongings in a safer place inside the hostel. The university said that it will not be responsible for any damage or loss of such properties. Students shall deposit their room keys to the Caretaker/Security personnel of the hostel before leaving.

Final year PG/UG students can stay inside the campus till 29 April, 2021 with all COV1D-19 protocol as notified earlier. They have to complete their research/laboratory works by that time and shall vacate their occupied rooms with bag and baggage by 30 April, 2021. They shall deposit their room keys to the Caretaker/Security personnel of the hostel before leaving.

Regarding room vacation of Ph.D. students will be notified soon. Examination schedule will be revised and CoE will inform the students accordingly at an early date.

International students will be allowed to stay back in their respective hostels till further notification.
