Nationwide vaccination drive: India all set to witness the “beginning of the end” of Covid-19

Today the country will witness the nationwide vaccination drive against Covid-19. PM Modi to launch this mega vaccination programme. It has reported that this is going to be the world’s largest vaccination program as it will cover every nook and corner of the country.

By the end of the first phase of the vaccination drive around 3 crore will be vaccinated including the millions of healthcare and frontline workers. The drive will be held daily from 9am to 5pm, except on the days earmarked for routine immunisation programmes.

Over 3 lakh healthcare workers are set to be inoculated on the first day of the long-awaited vaccination drive which Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has marked as the “probably the beginning of the end” of COVID-19.

According to the health officials of Assam, the drive will be rolled out across 74 sites and 1,85,235 state health workers and 5,524 personnel from central medical agencies have registered their names for the programme.
