Bajali subdivision has been formally declared as a full-fledged district of the state. Bajali now became Assam’s 34th state.
State CM Sarbananda Sonowal in a tweet congratulated the people of Bajali and expressed his belief that this decision will pave way for faster development of the educational and cultural hub of Assam.
Bajali is located 103 kilometres west of Guwahati. It is also important to mention that Bajali has become the 7th district to be formed after 2015.
Earlier Bajali was a Civil subdivision under the Barpeta district. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Assam Cabinet that was held earlier in 2020 at the administrative staff college in Khanapara, Guwahati.
