Diwali, the time of the year to celebrate ‘Victory of Light over Darkness’. The entire country have geared up for the celebration of the grand festival.
The cultural capital of Assam has also started to dress beautifully in the colours of the festival. The streets of Tezpur are lighted up and has wore its best look. The markets are packed with shopkeepers, displaying their varities of diyas, lights, earthen lamps and every other decorative items. The charm of the people, busy buying the every possible thing to decorate their houses, is worth giving a look.
As this diwali, the country has undertook the pledge to use all eco- friendly means of celebration, we also hope everyone around us shall also adhere to the pledge. It is highly expected that everyone shall buy the original products of the country and lend a hand to a clean economy.
The Sonitpur district administration under provisions of Section 144 Cr.P.C. has prohibited the bursting of sound creating crackers before 8 PM and after 10 PM during Diwali.
This order was given anticipating breach of peace and deterioration of law and order situation in the district during Diwali festival by anti social elements.
Citing an order by the Supreme Court of India the district administration has also banned the manufacture/ sale and use of fire crackers generating noise level exceeding 125 decibel (A1) or 145 decibel (c) pk at 4 meters distance from the point of bursting.
