Tezpur, 9th Jan : On a nation wide Bandh which has been called by ten Central Trade Union on 8th Jan ’20, life in Tezpur seemed to be normal with no protests on road. However transportations and banks remained closed.
The 24-hour strike was called by the CITU against various issues such as disinvestment, privatisation, labour reforms etc. seemed to have an effect in Tezpur but unlike the capital city where protestors marched in rallies while uttering their demands. Protestors also raised voices against the C(A)A which has kept the country disturbed since the last month.
Although a few schools of the town remain closed, shutters of all shops were almost up and regular duty of officials were seen.
